Our
catering manager lacks certain communication skills – like knowing when to keep
her mouth shut. While discussing a baptismal catering service with a couple one
day she tells the mother, “ Well, haven’t you lost
most of your pregnancy weight.” Which of course she meant as a complement, till
the mother replies, “ Why thank you. We adopted!”
The
Bishop spoke to his congregation one day at the parish anniversary
celebrations, emphasizing on the ever shrinking numbers of nuns and priests around
the world. He goes on by saying,” There are too many of you who have only one
child and then let them go into their own profession. I propose that each
family should have three children each. One for the Father,
one for the Mother and one for the church.”
A
few days later, as the bishop was shopping at a local store packed with
shoppers, a member of the congregation happened to see him. They exchanged
glances and the bishop saw her with her child on a stroller she was pushing.
The crowd kept them apart but the patron managed to shout out before the priest
got the chance to say a word, “ This one is yours
Bishop!” Much to the surprise of everybody as the bishop nodded, smiled and
waved turning away red faced with embarrassment.

anticipation. Some of us however felt that undue pressure was placed upon our
single congregation members when the poster announcing the event said, “Choir
Banquet Tickets at $ 10.00 per person. Spouses are welcome. Please get yours by
Sunday.”
