Funny Ad’s and Labels
“Huge
turtle needs home and big pond. Pet only. No TURTLE SOUP!”
“Free, looking for good home. Five month-old
cocker/lab mix. Good with kids. Daughter is allergic, must get rid of
her.”
I
was home from the hardware store purchasing a toilet we needed for a bathroom
renovation that was long overdue. Much to my delight, the toilet seat not only
had all the necessary hardware included, but a handy booklet filled with
warranty and care instructions. There was one label that was stuck to the
toilet that sent me laughing down to mother earth which I saw a few days after
the toilet was installed. Apparently, the said appliance was so cleanable that
it was labeled, “DISWASHER SAFE.”
My
wife and I received a gift from a long time friend in the form of a couple of
top quality knives and a chopping board. I unwrapped the knives admiring the
quality and form of the said product which seemingly was true to it’s label as a top rank and quality kitchen utensil. Upon
taking off the wrapper for the chopping board, my smile turned into a frown
when I happened to come upon the warning label that said, “WARNING, opening
packaging with a sharp object can damage this product.”
A
label on a flushable toilet brush says, “Warning, do not use for personal hygiene.”
A
warning label on an Electric blender that can blend, whip, chop and dice says, “
Never remove food from the blades while the product is operating.”
A
popular child scooter’s manufacturer warns, “ This
product moves when used.”
A
label on a multi function thermometer reads, “ Once
this product is used rectally, the thermometer should not be used orally.”
